The United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) is a National Non Profit Organization that focuses on promoting fair snowboard and freeski competitions around the Country. They are a grass roots organization, where every year, thousands of young prospective athletes compete for a chance to earn an invite to the USASA National Championships. For some highly driven athletes, the USASA has served as a stepping stone to larger competitive venues including World Cup, FIS and the US Olympic Team. EVERY 2014 US OLYMPIC SNOWBOARD TEAM ATHLETE, started in the USASA organization.
The Southwest Colorado Snowboard and Freeski Series is one of 32 Series across the Country that make up the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA)
The SW Colorado Series is proud to be able to represent the recreational and competitive interests of amateur snowboarding and freeskiing in the Southwest Colorado Area. Our goal is to promote Safe, Fair, & Fun events while fostering a competitive spirit in our athletes. Athletes in our Series compete to earn points towards National Championship invites. National Championships are held at Copper Mountain, Colorado at the end of March each year.
Our Series membership includes over 160 competitors with 85% ages 16 and below. We have a great mix of boys and girls competing in our series, with age groups broken down by gender and ages.
We hold Snowboard and Freeski competitions at all of our area resorts, including Purgatory Resort, Telluride, Crested Butte and Powderhorn Mountain Resort. Events/Competitions we hold include:

- Snowboard Giant Slalom
- Snowboard/Freeski Slope Style
- Snowboard/Freeski Rail Jam
- Snowboard Boarder Cross
- Freeski Skier Cross
